An independent film staring Daniel Day-Lewis, Anemone was a unique project - enabling us to make some unusual builds, especially the main set; ’Ray’s Hut’.

The location for this was a remote area of woodland, in Wales.

The initial structure we had to work with, was a derelict roofless stone building. Inside the building was just a mud floor, this was dug out and a timber joist floor installed to work on.

New trusses were built and installed to support the corrugated sheet roof and all aged down to look in keeping.

As the set was being shot in Wales, the project had the potential to be subject to varying amounts of rainfall, so the decision was made to build an exact replica in a studio for this reason as weather-cover.

All of the internal wall panels were moulded twice for exact replicas, as well as the fire place; where a silicone mould process was used - to capture the detailed brickwork surround.
